Summer time and the living’s easy!

Hello Mint Bloggers,

Spring is finally here and with only a few more weeks to go before the summer hits (experts predict a record breaking heat wave), we thought we would give you a little taste of our outdoor furniture collection so you can plan your summer accordingly! No excuses for staying indoors. Give us a call for more details:

Dehors Sofa (2-Seater)

Designed by Michele De Lucchi – Philippe Nigro, 2008

H 65.5 x W 166 x D 87 cm

The Dehors collection is designed to create an ideal “garden living-room”, inspired by nature and the irregular shapes of plants. In particular, the supports deviate from the usual vertical lines but nonetheless create a solid framework in which each counterbalances the other. The result is a wavy structure that abandons any claim to architectural rigour but offers an unexpected degree of comfort.

Dehors welcomes a naturalistic form of architecture and introduces a new and dynamic logic of comfort. The wide, asymmetrical seats invite the body to adopt an extreme variety of positions, from the most formal to those that encourage greater relaxation.

This is an aggregate system of furnishing, comprising armchair, sofa and chaise-longue. The 100% UV-resistant acrylic fabric covers are available in a range of colours, including brown grey, warm light grey or white, and the seat and back cushions may be mixed and matched.

“The design for “Tio” was the end result of a few months of thinking, sketching and sculpting. My point of departure was to arrange a fan of wires into a comfortable seat and then connect them in a straightforward and logical frame, which minimized the amount of steel used.

So really the appeal comes from pragmatic thinking, executed within the restraints of the materials characteristics and according to an industrial production process. Sounds clinical, but the result is something I find very pleasing. For those who find steel wires too hard, we have developed an upholstered cushion to give extra comfort during long dining sessions.” – says Chris Martin
